Excellent progress made
I'm really pleased with the way I've been helped by the volunteer testers. As a result the guide is going to be even easier to follow. So thank you, volunteers - you know who you are!The main thing that the feedback has revealed is that the guide as initially written is:
- excellent for having at your side as you follow it through on Zazzle
- not so great for reading through while you're curled up in your comfy chair
- could be improved for more "visual" rather than "wordy" folks
I'll also be doing a short video tutorial on building the simplest of templates by hand so that those who need a refresher on the concepts can brush up by watching it.
See the Zazzle forum topic for the volunteers' feedback.
Using the templates
Since the 20th May and the start of the testing, I've been using the vertical and horizontal (portrait and landscape orientation) templates that I created by following the building guide myself. I used 2 fonts variations, 2 verses and 25 backgrounds for the templates (so 2 x 2 x 25 = 100).Remember, in following the guide, the templates you build will produce individual products for the market place, each having a unique combination of front image, inside verse/sentiment, font variation and inside image. And of course, each also has a unique description and combination of tags.
Result!
You must be wondering, in seven days, how many Father's Day cards did I create? 1400. Yes, 1400!That's only 14 front images pushed through QC and my template sets. Ah, you're thinking now, "sweat shop hours!". Actually, no. I've been doing my day job, supporting the volunteers by answering their questions, moving all my websites to a new virtual server as well as the normal mundane stuff of living :)
I guess a couple of hours a day? And that's included a small amount of promotion time.
See them in my Father's Day category.
