Dreamy Moments series The picture is of a fence at the side of sand dunes at Bantham Beach, Devon. The title has nothing to do with buckets :)
An old word for fence was based on the word "pale", meaning pointed wooden sticks (think "impale"). These fences marked the (defensive) boundary of a village or group of houses, so being "beyond the pale" meant you were beyond the safe area and you'd better watch out!

The image portrays the idea of taking a stand when all around you is threatening; facing up to the challenges that life throws at you, and all the time, protecting what's dear to you.
