Becoming a Zazzle Associate / Storekeeper

About Zazzle

Zazzle is an online retailer that allows users to upload images and create their own merchandise (clothing, posters, household wares, office products and more), or buy merchandise created by other users, as well as use images from participating companies. Zazzle's proprietary technology enables individuals, professional artists, and major brands, including Disney and Hallmark, to create and offer billions of unique products for customers worldwide. Users are allowed to open their own shop for free and set the profit they wish to make on each item (Royalty).
Zazzle was founded in 1999 by Robert Beaver, and his sons Bobby and Jeff Beaver. In 2005, Google investors John Doerr and Ram Shriram invested US$16 million into the business. The site was recognized by TechCrunch as 2007's "best business model" in its first annual "Crunchies" awards, and has been noted by industry experts, such as B. Joseph Pine, for its easy-to-use technology. In 2010, Zazzle was recognized as one of the "Hottest Silicon Valley Companies" by Lead411. It is based in Redwood City, California.
Zazzle.com offers digital printing, and embroidered decoration on their retail apparel items, as well as other personalization techniques and items.

Where do I find my Zazzle Associate ID?
Once you've signed up for a Zazzle account, get your referrer id (aka associate id) here www.zazzle.com/my/associate/associate

How much will I earn?
Zazzle has a standard 15% commission on sales you refer. Here are their cookie rules, taken from zazzle.com/mk/policy/associates_agreement:

We will record the time for each user each time such user visits the Site via the Links or Your Associate URL. The time will reset every 45 days and Zazzle will pay the Associate who referred the most recent User(s) making a purchase. Users may block or delete such cookie and the possible replacement of such cookie as a result of the user entering the Site from a different destination or such blocking or deletion of the cookie may result in our inability to place or detect the cookie.

Where will I see any sales I refer?
In your Zazzle account, have a look at your Referral History report. If you have referred a sale you will see an entry giving details. You'll also see the tracking code used in the referring link.
In this screenshot from mine, you'll see an example. Note that amounts in mine are in GBP because I signed up with the UK as my main domain.

Do I have to design and make my own products?
No. You can if you want but most new Zaps users will just want to refer and sell existing storekeepers' products.
